This weekend, I FINALLY got to the movies, for the first time since Sasha was born. I went to see Juno, which I've been meaning to get to forever, and you know what? It was just as good as everyone told me it would be. Which is so rare, because usually, when people go on and on about a movie, by the time you see it your expectations are so high there's no way not to be disappointed. But I really, really liked it. And now, at least, I've seen one movie nominated for the Oscars this year. It's better than none, right? I was actually on a movie roll this weekend. I also watched The Simpsons Movie on DVD, which was also fun (although not as good as Juno, not that I expected it to be). And after THAT was over, I was flipping around and landed on the last hour or so of Beautiful Girls, a movie I have written about before here, because I love it That Much. Natalie Portman, in one of her first roles? Timothy Hutton, in one of the few roles I remember him in after Ordinary People? And Rosie O'Donnell, who has been in, like, hardly any movies at all? I think I even own this movie on DVD, which did not prevent me from watching it anyway, much to my husband's annoyance. But at least now, I have built up my movie tolerance again. It was about time. And finally, thanks to the reader on Sarahland who pointed me to this product, which I just love so much I might have to buy it. I have seen a lot of Hate Spinnerbait T-shirts since This Lulllaby came out, and I always love to see how people interpret this strong, and important sentiment. But adding Dexter to the mix is a nice touch. Okay, baby's crying. Gotta go! |

So please come to LA. |
