This weekend, I FINALLY got to the movies, for the first time since Sasha was born. I went to see Juno, which I've been meaning to get to forever, and you know what? It was just as good as everyone told me it would be. Which is so rare, because usually, when people go on and on about a movie, by the time you see it your expectations are so high there's no way not to be disappointed. But I really, really liked it. And now, at least, I've seen one movie nominated for the Oscars this year. It's better than none, right?

I was actually on a movie roll this weekend. I also watched The Simpsons Movie on DVD, which was also fun (although not as good as Juno, not that I expected it to be). And after THAT was over, I was flipping around and landed on the last hour or so of Beautiful Girls, a movie I have written about before here, because I love it That Much. Natalie Portman, in one of her first roles? Timothy Hutton, in one of the few roles I remember him in after Ordinary People? And Rosie O'Donnell, who has been in, like, hardly any movies at all? I think I even own this movie on DVD, which did not prevent me from watching it anyway, much to my husband's annoyance. But at least now, I have built up my movie tolerance again. It was about time.

And finally, thanks to the reader on Sarahland who pointed me to this product, which I just love so much I might have to buy it. I have seen a lot of Hate Spinnerbait T-shirts since This Lulllaby came out, and I always love to see how people interpret this strong, and important sentiment. But adding Dexter to the mix is a nice touch.

Okay, baby's crying. Gotta go!

have a good day, everyone!

I am so glad you saw (and liked!) Juno. I was really doubtful I could love it as much, because it was so hyped up, but it was really good!

I loved Juno as well, despite going into the theater feeling as though I'd be disappointed. Another fantastic (and short) movie you should really see - Once. It's a little indie film that has gotten amazing reviews and an Oscar nomination for best song, and I cannot recommend it enough. It is by far the best movie I've seen in years.

Awh, I'm so glad that you liked Juno! Personally, I loved it and ended up seeing it three times since it's been in theaters. :) I don't know why I like it so much - the plot, the characters, the acting, the humor... who knows!

hope that it's going well. :)

I go to the movies pretty much every weekend if there is a good movie out. But that's what my family does--read and watch movies. Plus, there's nothing else to do in my town. :-P

I liked Juno, although for a heart-felt, Make You Think About Life movie I've always been partial to Garden State. Might not be exactly in the same vein, but the previews made it out to be something like that.

I love that T-shirt! Hate Spinnerbait, but love the t-shirt. ;-)

I just love all of the guys in your stories, except for dreamland because he's abusive, and I was wondering how you make their characters up. Do you know men like that or are they just guys that you would like to know?

Tour
Will you be doing a tour after lock and key is out? and if you are then can you pretty please come to louisiana because no one comes to louisiana and when they do, they go to new orleans which is unfair to the people that live like three hours away. So please come to LA.
