I know I usually do a Friday Five on, um, Friday. But today, instead, I am going to share a story.

I have written here before about how I am obsessed these days with Ben Lee and his music. In particular, in the last few weeks, I have been VERY into a song from his new album called "Birds and Bees," which I listen to pretty much constantly. I have played it for friends, telling them how it will stick with you, it just puts you in a good mood, it's the best song ever. There's a girl who sings on it with him, and I have often wondered who it was. But because I bought the track from iTunes, I had no idea. And then, today, I find out completely by accident that that it's....Mandy Moore.

*shrieks*

Hello! That puts, like, only one person between me and Ben Lee. Okay, so I only met Mandy twice, and she wouldn't be able to pick me out of a lineup. But still! Eeeek! Now you understand why I am doing my Friday entry on Thursday night, because I am Just That Excited and Could Not Wait to Share. Also, this is a great song for a Friday. Just listen to it, and I bet you will agree. You can find it here.

Okay, now I'm going to bed. Yes, it's 9:42. What's your point?

have a great weekend, everyone!

I go to bed at 10 every (week) night. My life has improved so much because of it. Seriously.

I am going at 10 tonight EVEN THOUGH I really need to write up my episode reactions to One Tree Hill. So you can see how dedicated to this bedtime thing I am.

Mandy Moore ROCKS! I would also suggest that you check out her new album Wild Hope, if you haven't listened to it already. It is simply amazing.

You are officially 50x cooler for loving Ben Lee! "Birds & Bees" is such a cute song. Ben has collaborated with a ton of different artists. Some of my favorites are "Catch My Disease," "Whatever It Is," "Ache For You," and "We're All In This Together."

Hahaha! You're so cute! I love Ben Lee and his song "Catch My Disease" ever since I heard it on the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack. I love dancing to it. The lyrics don't really make sense though.

There used to be this guy at my school who looked like Ben Lee and I totally had a crush on him.

Haha, cute. I just read Mandy's blog and she said that she's going to Australia to open up for him for a few shows. Ironic!

That's not ironic. It's happy coincidence. Sorry, it just majorly bugs me when people use the term incorrectly. Blame the English nerd in me!

I'd like to suggest Ben Lee's movie The Rage in Placid Lake for your viewing pleasure. I absolutely love it! He also does a great cover album of Against Me!'s New Wave album. It's on his blog, you just have to scroll down to August 19, 2007.

It makes me so happy that you listen to Ben Lee! I actually met him a couple of years ago, when he opened for Aimee Mann, and though I had only heard his music once at that point, he was ridiculously cute, and I have been a huge fan ever since. I highly recommend his CD, Awake is the New Sleep, if you haven't heard it already - it's very upbeat and fun, and just...very Ben :)

I have had the pleasure of meeting Ben Lee and let me tell you he is as nice and as sweet as you could imagine. Plus, who doesn't love an accent? One of my favorite CDs of his is "Breathing Tornadoes," I recommend the song "Birthday Song"

Ben Lee
Sarah,
I just wanted to let you know that i met Ben Lee once, after a concert in Ann Arbor, Mi where he opened for Dashboard Confessional. He was totally adorable in concert, and he finished his set with "Catch my Disease" (but he changed the lyrics to "Buy my CD" which i thought was kind of cute). After the song ended, he said that he would come out and do a meet and greet. So, i went to where he was signing autographs, stood in line, and finally introduced myself. I'm only 5'2", but he couldn't have been much taller than me, smiling really big with his crazy curly hair. He gave me a big hug, signed my CD (which i bought while i waited in line to meet him), he even let me kiss him on the cheek for a picture (!!), and he said "Cheers" when i left. He would never remember, but it was an exciting day for me. Anyways, i guess my point is that not only does he have great music, he's also a really nice guy.
