A few random observations, on your Wednesday (as I have only a little bit of time, random is all I can do):

1. According to reports, John Edwards is dropping out of the presidential race. Which is not surprising, really, but makes me a little sad, as it's always nice to see someone local in the national news. Oh, well. There's always the UNC basketball team, which is having a great (although no longer undefeated) season. Maybe now I'll bump into John and Elizabeth out at the country ice cream store we both live sort-of-near? I wonder if he's a chocolate chip type, like me.

2. Is it just me, or is MySpace starting to look more and more like Facebook? The interface is changing, the pages getting simpler, cleaner. They even have a newsfeed like thing now. I guess it was necessary: it really was messy before, and Facebook is so much more streamlined. Plus, when I checked my MySpace page the other day, a shock: no spam. Hooray!

3. I do not want to gloat, but yesterday I received a SUPER DUPER EARLY COPY of Jennifer Weiner's Certain Girls, a book I am so, so excited about. And it doesn't even come out until April! Now I just have pace myselfand try not to read it all in one mad spurt, then try to keep my friends from fighting over who gets to read it next. Maybe whoever buys me some chocolate chip ice cream? Or maybe I'll just give it to John Edwards.

4. Today, for the first time in ages, I get to go out and do a business-y thing and have a nice lunch. And wear cute shoes! I am also going to carry a real purse, and not my diaper bag (which has been my purse for the last five months, so sad, right?) Now, all I have to do is try to leave the house without spitup in my hair or on my clothes. Wish me luck....

have a good day, everyone!

i'm sad about john edwards as well. but the thought of you sharing chocolate chip ice cream and certain girls with him makes me laugh.

i don't know about the diaper bag, though. my brother and sister-in-law got a pretty trendy one from the hospital for my nephew. still, i can see why you'd prefer a real purse. and when combined with cute shoes, you really can't go wrong!!

I was really rooting for John Edwards, so I'm sad too. And he seems like a chocolate chip ice cream lover. Ooh, or would he like Pistachio, like I do??

some questions for a middle school project about you!
hey this is jessica and sadie from jennings county middle school in north vernon, indiana. we love your books so when our language art teacher said we had to pick an author for a research project we automatically picked you! we have a few questions to ask you though.

-at what age did you decide you wanted to become a writer?
-are any of your books inspired from true life experiences?
-what is your favorite book you have written so far?
-do you plan on writing more books after "lock and key" comes out in april?
-what are some of your favorite foods?
-what are some places you like to go for vacation?
-how is your baby doing so far??

if you have the time to answer these questions please email us at cruser@rock.com (that is jessica's email address) we appreciate your time and we really enjoy your books!!!

Don't worry-- John Edwards will most likely be the running mate of Hillary now that she's bribed him to drop out. And then he will be our VP for the next 4-8 years. You should send him that book and have a chocolate chip ice cream date soon before he's too busy!

Don't you mean the running mate of Obama? :)

On a side note, I'm really jealous you got an early copy of Certain Girls! I'm so anxious to read it - Good in Bed was the first book book I read by her, so I'm excited to see what's going on in their lives now.

Good luck today, Sarah! :)

hah yeah except when it's bad exposure...like say when some decent singer auditioning on American Idol just all of a sudden flips out and tells Simon to "take it" a hundred times. or when your high school is featured on abc, msnbc, and other news stations because of a "cell phone porn scandal"
any exposure is good exposure i guess lol

I'm pretty sad that John Edwards left the race. I was going to vote for him in two weeks for the VA primary. Most kids at my school hate Hilary (I personally donate), and I think this year is a HUGE year for the young vote. I don't really like Obama either, however that's probably where my vote will land.
I hope your lunch went well! =]

I was sad Edwards left too. I voted for him Tuesday (in Florida), and then he left the next day. It's a shame that he was so overshadowed by Hillary and Obama.

It really is. He really was someone whom you could tell really cared. I honestly thought he would climb up in the polls. I hope Obama or Hilary appoint him for something at the White House. I think my vote is now going to Obama. Sadly, too many people just hate Hilary and I don't think she could have a chance against a Republican. The undecided voters will side with the reps. most likely. who knows.
