I am writing this as I find myself with a few spare moments to catch up. Actually, "catching up," is almost laughable: I am so behind on email, phone calls, household chores, EVERYTHING it's ridiculous. But at least I have a good excuse, right?

I have to say it: this having a baby thing is pretty cool. I wouldn't call myself a cynical person, per se, but when people said, "Oh, your life changes immediately," and "You'll be totally in love," I thought, yeah, well, we'll see. Truth? I'm gone. Totally, completely gone. This baby looks at me and I just go gushy. Even at three in the morning, when we've already been up to feed twice. Pretty amazing.

Gushing aside, the rest of the world goes on, and things are happening. Such as the release of my friend Melissa Walker's first novel, Violet on the Runway, which came out last week. I meant to plug is sooner, but I've been too busy gushing, so let me just say it's a great, fun read about modeling and dreams coming true, as well as the flip side, when they are not what you expect them to be. Melissa's a fellow Chapel Hill High School grad, and we tend to stick together. Plus, she got a mention on Page Six this week, which seems to be the new YA trend: both Meg Cabot and Megan McCafferty got shout outs recently as well. Go Melissa!

Speaking of books being released, my newest, Lock and Key, will not be until April, but eagle-eyed readers noticed that the cover has now been posted on Amazon, which is very exciting. So, without further ado:

Nice, right? Personally, I really like it. Almost enough to gush. If I wasn't so busy doing it over something else....
