Late Breaking Number Six (or, because I keep my promises)

So it's around 3pm on Friday, and I just sat down to check my email. (Okay, total honesty: I sat down to check my email WITH a pint of Phish Food ice cream in hand. What can I say, it's Friday. I'm pregnant. The excuses abound!) Anyway, I was reading my PW daily email, which covers the children book industry, when I came across this:

Regina Hayes at Viking has acquired a new novel by Sarah Dessen. Lock and Key is scheduled to be published in 2008.

Suffice to say, it's a little odd to read about yourself in the deal report. Especially when you have a mouthful of ice cream. But because I had promised that when it could be revealed, I'd do it here first, I zipped over to do just that (and add it onto this morning's entry, so if you read it twice, sorry about that). So, yes. The book is called Lock and Key. It'll be out in Spring 2008. Now, back to the ice cream...

Is it going to be hardcover first? It seems like it's always that and then it's paperback when you have a new book... I like the hardcovers, they just cost nearly twice as much :/

But I am willing to pay even though I am poor! hahaaa. I love you.

Almost all books are released in hardcover first. I can't think of one off of my head that wasn't, but I'm sure there are one or two books out there that came out in paperback first.

You always pick such awesome names for your characters.
