Oh, man. It's Monday. Nineteen degrees. The last week of January.

*sigh*

I am fighting these winter blues, I swear I am. But it is HARD. Let's just hope the groundhog doesn't see his shadow on Friday. (I can't believe I just mentioned Friday. It's, like, a million years away from right now. Oops. I guess that fight isn't going so well.)

One thing sure to help? Thinking ahead to warmer weather. I think this week I'm going to splurge on a new pair of flip flops, even if I won't get to wear them for another couple of months. Dedicated readers will remember that back in September, I lost my beloved Havaianas flip flops in a sand dune (long story: actually, I only lost one, but what are you going to do with one flip flop?). While I was able to find some Tevas I liked to replace them, it's just NOT the same. And for $11.95, maybe I can even get two pairs. Then, when they come, I'll put them in my closet, along with my sunscreen and tank tops, erect a little shrine to spring and summer that I can kneel down in front of when the going gets rough. I mean, we still have all of February to go! Fight on. Fight on!

There are, of course, good things about February. Like February sweeps, which will be starting up soon, new exciting episodes of all my favorite shows. The Oscars. The Superbowl (which, to me, means Superbowl food more than the game itself, but whatever). Valentine's Day chocolates, possible snow days, the new Mandy Moore movie (with Diane Keaton!), the Departed on DVD (maybe now I'll FINALLY see it) and last but not least, it's only 28 days long. Sure, that's only two or three days less than most months. But in February, I'll take what I can get. Every little bit helps.

Okay, I'm going to bundle up and go warm up my car now. Sigh. I just have to keep telling myself: think flip flops. Flip flops. Flip flops!

have a good day, everyone!

This winter is the year I officially decide I am not a winter person. I am a summer person. I like to ski and I like to go sleigh riding, but I haven't done either this winter because there's been no snow. It's just really really cold. I'm in my house and I'm wearing a scarf and gloves.
Flip flops, flip flops, flip flops...

Over the weekend, I used my "you spend so much at Old Navy, we'll give you $10 to spend more!" coupon to buy four(!) pairs of flip flops: black, scarlett, metallic gold and metallic silver.

Of course, being in Florida, I'll be able to wear mine sooner rather than later (not trying to rub it in, Sarah, just stating a fact!) but not tonight--our tempature is going to be in the low 30's/high 20's! With a freeze warning! In Orlando! Brrrr!

I think a shrine to spring and summer is brilliant, and I will have to join you in that! I'm so not a fan of winter (and I live in Canada - boo for me), and anything that might help me get through it is a good thing.

I actually am a winter person, but this year, i'm not. I think it's because we didn't get snow here until January. Usually, i'm so excited about snow and Christmas in December. But now, it's like it just doesn't mean anything. It's just cold.

So, my point is, I have to agree with you on the flip-flop thing. And the new Mandy Moore movie :)

I think flip flops has become my new mantra. I am getting sick of this crap weather. I was loving the hot weather in the middle of Nov. but that feels so long ago.
What makes this worse is I am going up North tomorrow for a few days. I'm gonna freeze.

I can't wait for the new Mandy Moore movie. She is so cute

I must agree, I am entirely ready for the new Mandy Moore movie. However, I like winter. I'd rather be cold then hot. Atleast when you're cold, you can put clothes on toe warm you up. When you're hot, you cant take off enough clothes to cool off without facing indecency laws...

It's like two degrees here... I hate cold weather. Brr....

And I cannot WAIT for summer.

And the superbowl is good too... since I'm a Bear's fan all the way and I predicted way back in like December that they were going to the superbowl! WOOHOO!

And I can't wait to see Because I Said So... it looks so good!
