Okay, so here's what I don't understand about the Idol audition specials. (Yes, I watched. What, you think I'd follow my own advice and abstain? Please.) I understand that part of the appeal---to some people, anyway---is showing all the people who don't make it, don't even get close. But why is it that, after two hours of really bad auditions and only a couple of decent ones, at the very end there's a montage of all the people who DID make it, most of whom we never even saw? There's got to be a reason for this. Like they don't want us to know too much about the finalists yet, or something. Personally, after watching one person's dream get crushed after another, I just get depressed. Can we please have a little more happy mixed in? It seems cruel to build the entire two hours around people who just get rejected, again and again and again. And I guarantee you, later, during the Hollywood shows, they'll feature people who were picked in Minneapolis and did a great job. But do we get to see them now? No. We get to see nineteen year olds cry onto their mother's shoulders. Honestly, I was just ashamed of myself. When you're considering flipping over to The Real Housewives, because THAT at least makes you feel better, you know you're in trouble. I'm just saying. Speaking of feeling better, or good in general, I just saw Bindi Irwin (the Crocodile Hunter's daughter) on GMA a little while ago, and MAN that child is cheerful. She's, like, otherwordly she's so happy. If they could bottle her attitude we wouldn't need Prozac. And here I am, half awake, slogging through my Cheerios, awed. I don't have anything to else to say about this, no big point to make. It just kind of blew my mind. Finally, they're calling for POSSIBLE sleet or snow tomorrow, and we all know what that means. If they don't back off from this forecast, then everyone will go into North Carolina Winter Weather Survival Mode, charging the grocery store for milk and bread, just in case we all get snowed in for days on end. (They're calling for an inch, at most, which, if experience holds, probably means nothing. My call? A cold rain. I'd bet money on it.) On Monday, the high was 74. Tomorrow's is 40. It's just not supposed to vary this much, is it? Still, with Idol completely cringe-worthy (not to mention me already complaining about it) and the possibility of winter weather (even if it's only one flake) it does finally feel like January. Which I guess is good, considering the month is already more than half over. Still, I don't want winter to get too comfortable here. Nice to see you, but move along, move along... |

It certainly never snowed where I live in California. Anyway, even if it doesn't, it's still nice to know that there's the possibility : ) Have a lovely day, Sarah! - Melissa www.myspace.com/happy_girl |

However, this winter I have only seen 2 or 3 days with scattered flurries and no accumulation on the ground, basically its been spring weather here. I think Al Gore was right about this Global Warming thing..lol. Our winters can be almost as brutal as yours in NC. Maybe, now that my sister has a job at GlaxoSmithKline in NC I'll get to experience it. I miss snow. -Lori K. |

I didn't realize there was an author out there who could make me feel so much and at the same time I could identify with the character so well because the truth is, i'm kind of like Annabel when it comes to keeping everything in. even if my problems are different than hers. n even if no one around actually notices. humans are so good at deceiving and wearing masks to hide everything away, don't you think? N yes, Owen is right ..it does suck to keep everything in. But I'm not as depressed as i sound, i promise. haha not like u care but i wuz just saying. life can't b mean to u 24/7. Ur book was really special 2 me. it's the 1st of your books i've ever read by u and i plan on reading more of ur books. U r a great writer. |

They didn't show her audition, but she was the first one in the clips, wearing a blue shirt and jumping up and down. I just wanted to share that. Hopefully, tonight will be better. :) |
