Good morning! (Note that exclamation point: that means I just drank my coffee.)

This weekend, we (and by we, I mean my brother, who is awesome) made some changes to my website, including a page about Just Listen , which has some background on where the story came from, as well as some other fun info. Also, I have a couple of confirmed appearance dates, both local: I'll be at The Regulator Bookshop in Durham at 7pm on Thursday, April 6th--the pub date!---and Quail Ridge Books in Raleigh on Wednesday, April 12th at 7pm. More national stuff to come as soon as we (and by we, I mean the fabulous, calm-cool-collected Allison) has everything confirmed.

Speaking of publicity, and such, several people have suggested that I get a MySpace page. I checked it out this weekend, and put something together, but I'm not entirely sure 1) how it all works and 2) whether I can actually handle another Internet distraction. God knows I already waste enough time just with Livejournal and Google Entertainment News. I worry that if I add one more thing, I'll never get anything done. Or leave the house. Which could, um, be a problem.

Speaking of domestic issues, my dog toy travails continue. At this point, Coco has ripped the stuffing out of 1) her chicken 2) her cat and 3) her bed. Everywhere I look, there's stuffing. I keep having to take things away from her: the entire kitchen island is like a graveyard of maimed and mauled stuffed animals, missing their eyes, various appendages and most of their guts. It's depressing. We have our last dog training class tonight: maybe they can show me how to teach her to be kind and gentle, and not rip things to shreds? Or maybe shaking hands is the best I can hope for. Oh, well. There's always nylabones, I guess.

Finally, for no other good reason than it's Monday and some of you may be feeling down, here's a link to something that ALWAYS makes me laugh out loud, my very favorite snl skit ever. Okay, so it's a bit of a distraction. But it's a good one. And no one--chickens, cats, beds or otherwise---gets hurt. Can't beat that.

have a good day, everyone!

I'm so excited for Just Listen. I already put my name down for it at Barnes and Noble.
I hope that you do an appearance in New York or New Jersey sometime soon!
And MySpace is a total distraction. Who does homework when you can look at other people's profiles all day and MyStalk?
I'm home sick today and pretty bummed but I seriously laughed so hard during that SNL clip. Have you seen the rap with Andy Samberg and Chris Parns, Lazy Sunday? That makes me laugh everytime.

Hope you have a good day too!

Thanks for adding that section to your web site!

A thought about MySpace: you could create a page and link it to your LJ, so you would not have to update the myspace blog like you do over here. I do think it would be good to get a page though, so maybe people who don't use LJ find out about you and become big fans. :)

I've never commented here before, but I wanted to say that your webpage looks great - and to agree that the original Debbie Downer sketch is still the best one. :)

Looking forward to the new book!

I have a one year old pup that also ate through all her toys. I found a few labeled indestructible at Pet Supermarket. They aren't as cute as some of the others, but are the only thing that survived her teeth (and seem to help keep her away from my walls and furniture). The other toy that has made it is a really long rope twist with three knots.

Ha ha...I love that SNL skit too. It aired during my college program with WDW and the clips they show at the beginning are ridicoulously outdated...

Just Listen
Wow Sarah, it's happened. I am officially jazzed about this new novel! I was intrigued during your reading of the cover, somewhat charmed by the excert, but this little piece that you wrote about has officially sucked me in, and I'm just bursting with excitement to read it! I've been a fan of your writing since I read That Summer at about the age of twelve, and completely related to Haven. I have this spooky premonition that this could be my favorite book yet! As soon as I figure out how to "friend" people I'm going to have to friend you if it's alright with you.

I love how Quail Ridge Books always gets tons of great authors to come speak there! One question though- are you planning on coming to the UNC-CH campus for an appearance with Just Listen anytime?? Because that would be really amazing.

Myspace is easy, if you need help, just post something and 100 of us will give you ideas!

Good luck with the puppy!

That was such a funny SNL skit! I love that show. But my favorites are OLD SCHOOL with Gilda Radner!

My 2 dogs(mini-wienerdogs!) ALWAYS pull the stuffing out of their toys and then the eyes off, and they are 3 years old. I know what you mean - all of their toys look totally tortured and dead. When they are done with a new toy, the floor looks like a stuffed animal murder has taken place.

Just one caution about MySpace--it's the hangout for creepy stalkers and just freaky people. There were like three girls abducted and assaulted in my area lately by way of MySpace. Not that you're a teenage girl, but you never know.

It's just good to know what could happen.

Then again, I suppose you could say the same about LJ, but most stalkers are more prone to hang out at MySpace or Xanga.

I just got myspace today, and I spent the whole day adding friends and making my user info and such. It's really addicting, but I think it'd be cool if you get one. I know you'll have a large amount of friends.

I'm going to check out the page posted for Just Listen, now. Again, I can't wait for it!

Try to stop by New Jersey. There are tons of fans here. (Including me, of course. )
